November 24th, the RSM / Coto de Caza del Sol
Rotary Club helped several less fortunate Rancho
families, offering them a complete Thanksgiving
dinner. Pictured are: Rotary del Sol past president
Dan Graham with Rancho Santa Margarita Teen
Council members picking up the dinners, which
were delivered to 17 needy families.

The Albertsons’ parking lot was busy on Nov. 24th
as del Sol Rotarians Dan Graham and the Bra-
bender family loaded up boxes of Thanks-
giving dinners to be delivered. These
dinners included everything for a family
in need to have a wonderful trad-
itional Thanksgiving feast.

The Renko Rotarian family picked up a few of the
Thanksgiving dinners and helped delivered them
to families in need on November 24th. Many local
families were so thankful for the RSM/Coto de Casa
del Sol Rotary Club generosity, these dinners were
purchased at Albertsons’ in Trabuco Marketplace.

Mark Anderson age15, Camryn Hidalgo age 11 and
Colten Young age 11 were selected into the USA
Diving's Junior Elite Performance Squad (JEPS).
They dive with the M.V. Nadadores and were
selected based upon their performances at the
2010 Junior National Championships. Selection
to this elite squad means that the divers are
viewed as some of the USA Diving's best junior
divers with the potential to perform well nation-
ally and internationally. The 2016 and 2020
Olympic Games are the ultimate target.

Twenty-three models graced the runway of the
National Charity League, Inc., Saddleback Valley
Chapter’s 27th Annual Fundraiser Luncheon and
Fashion Show. The “Peace, Love, Fashion” themed
show was held at the Irvine Hyatt Regency and raised
in excess of $24,000 for local charities. The show
began with models: Casey Weiner (AVHS), Christine
Galosic (AVHS), Cristina Brower (THS), Katherine
Rakow (JSHS), MariClaire and Cranston (SMHS).

November 20th, hundreds of canyon residents
enjoyed the 12th Annual Trabuco Pancake Break-
fast that was held at the OCFA Trabuco Canyon Fire
Station #18. Usually the breakfast is served outdoors
at the Trabuco General Store lot but because of the
rainy weather conditions the site had to be abruptly
changed. Breakfast coordinator Patti Mode had
to make a quick decision the day before the
gathering to relocate the community breakfast.

Trabuco Pancake Breakfast. Breakfast hostess/coordinator Patti Mode along with Trabuco Canyon Fire
Station #18 volunteers pulled off the community event on November 20th despite the weather conditions.

November 19th, Rancho Santa Margarita Business Alliance along with RSM Mayor Jerry Holloway officially
welcomed Big Lots to the Town Centre with a Grand Opening ribbon cutting ceremony. Present were RSM
City Council members Gary Thompson and Neil Blais, Big Lots Dist. Mgr. Alfredo Fletes, store Mgr. Hector
Torres, City officials, Chamber members and employees of Big Lots. Mayor Holloway noted that the ribbon
cutting officially welcomed Big Lots as a valued member of the city’s business family. Big Lots has
already proven itself as a true community partner with a check donation of $2,500 to RSM Intermediate
School that will provide valuable school funding, further enriching the education of the children.

November 6th, the Tesoro Entertainment Units Marching Band, Drum Line and Dance Guard took home
another 1st Place trophy at the Irvine Field Show hosted by Irvine and Woodbridge High Schools. Tesoro's
2010 show, entitled "Lindbergh's Journey," used marching, music and dance to tell the story of the young
aviator Charles Lindbergh as he made his famous Trans-Atlantic crossing. With their 1st Place trophy for
the 3A division in hand, the TEU were invited to perform an encore presentation of their show for the later
audiences that showed up for the 4A & 5A competition showcasing the areas' largest marching bands later
that night. It was a performance of pure joy, a spectacular exclamation point on another winning season.

Construction on the Upper Chiquita Reservoir is moving along quickly and the Santa Margarita Water Dist.
officials look forward to its completion in April 2011. The embankment was completed in mid-November
and they are on installing the lining of the reservoir, a material made of polyethylene. More than
18-acres of lining will be installed, which will maintain the reservoir’s water quality.

October 25th-29th, students at Tijeras Creek Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week. Students gathered
on the field to spell the message "DRUG FREE". The Orange County Fire Department came to the
